The Kangs beat up on Newport Thursday for a 3-1 for their second win of the season. Lake Washington scored early and often as Lacy Newbold took a pass from Regan Wessman and put it into the back of the Knights’ goal during the 25th minute. Three minutes later Kate Bebee scored on a Marissa Grant pass to increase the lead to 2-0. The Kangs took an insurmountable 3-0 lead as Newbold scored for the second time just before half time. Newport scored its only goal of the game during the 54th minute.

The Lake Washington girls soccer team played Redmond to a 1-1 tie Tuesday at Redmond High School.

Redmond got on the board early, scoring the first goal of the game during the 13th minute. But Lake Washington’s Lacy Newbold took a pass from teammate Shelby Bergren during the 25th minute and put the ball into the back of the Mustangs’ net.

The Kangs are now 2-4-2 in league play and 2-7-3 overall.
