With the 2013 NFL playoffs entering the divisional round this weekend, Rep. Suzan DelBene, along with Derek Kilmer and Denny Heck have placed a wager with New Orleans Congressman Cedric Richmond on the upcoming game between the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints.
The Washington representatives will be putting up a basket of local Washington state treats that include: Woodinville wine, smoked salmon, Almond Roca candy and Fisher Fair Scone mix. Also included will be a bag of Skittles.
For his part, Rep. Richmond will be wagering Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, a Randazzo King Cake and New Orleans Pralines.
Additionally, the members representing the losing team will wear a lapel of the winning team’s logo on the House floor next week.
“New Orleans is a great city with a lot to offer, and this is a great way for Rep. Richmond to share some of the unique and fantastic products from the Big Easy, because if history is a predictor of future outcomes, we’re really looking forward to the king cake and pralines from Rep. Richmond,” said DelBene, Kilmer and Heck in a joint statement. “Go Hawks!”
“I cherish every moment to share the wonderful flavors of New Orleans with my colleagues,” said Rep. Richmond. “Unfortunately, they won’t be recipients of the products from our great city this time. There is no doubt in my mind that the Saints will show up in Seattle ready to perform, and will bring back a great victory for the city. WhoDat!”
The Seattle Seahawks play against the New Orleans Saints at 1:35 p.m. tomorrow in Seattle at Century Link Field Pacific Time.
