A loss to Bellevue eleminated the Juanita High volleyball from postseason contention on Wednesday, Oct. 19, but the Rebels still have an opportunity to play spoiler to their crosstown rivals.
For Lake Washington, which lost to Mercer Island 25-20, 25-11, 26-24 on Wednesday on Mercer Island, the season finale against Juanita is a must-win.
The Kangs (5-8 KingCo, 5-8) are tied with Interlake (5-8, 6-9) for the fifth seed in the conference standings. Both teams have one match remaining, with the top five teams advancing to the conference tournament.
Interlake and Lake Washington have split two conference meetings this season, with each team winning 3-1 on their home floor.
Interlake is scheduled to close out the regular season on Monday, Oct. 24 against Sammamish (0-13, 0-15).
Juanita (3-10, 3-10) will miss the conference tournament after losing 3-0 to Bellevue on Wednesday evening.
Lake Washington won the first meeting with Juanita, 3-2, on Sept. 28. The crosstown rivals are scheduled to play in the Juanita Fieldhouse on Monday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.
