Seven Rebels to compete at regional tournament tomorrow, Madden continues dominance

Seven Juanita High School students will compete for regional wrestling titles in their respective weight classes on Friday in Richland thanks to strong performances on Saturday during the 3A KingCo Championship meet at Skyline High School.

Seven Juanita High School students will compete for regional wrestling titles in their respective weight classes on Friday in Richland thanks to strong performances on Saturday during the 3A KingCo Championship meet at Skyline High School.

The most dominant Rebel this season has been Germain Madden, who took the 3A KingCo tournament title in the 170-pound weight class on Saturday. Madden was also voted as the 3A KingCo Wrestler of the Year with a 22-1 record.

Juanita had two more KingCo champions on Saturday. Dane Garmin dominated the 132-pound weight class and improved his record to 24-7 overall this season. Perry Padilla also won in impressive fashion, taking the KingCo title in the 138-pound division. Padilla improved to 24-9 on the season.

Matt Moherle made it to the finals of the 170-pound bracket and finished second overall (19-9).

Shannon Smith, with only 15 matches under his belt this season, finished third at 152 pounds, while Nathan Ferrell finished fourth at 126 pounds.
