Olivia Smallman started the regular season on a very high note Monday as she collected five RBI in a 13-1 pounding of Mercer Island by the Lake Washington High School girls softball team.
Smallman went 4-for-4 with three doubles and two runs scored of her own during the contest, as the Kangs scored four runs during the second inning, one in the third and two in the fourth. But it was six-run sixth that finished off the Islanders.
Tori Bivens picked up the win for Lake Washington, as she completed four scoreless innings from the pitching circle with eight strikeouts.
