This past spring, the Sticks-2-Schools program was introduced in the state and visited a wide variety of schools in the Puget Sound. This year, with so many more schools on the list, Sticks-2-Schools is working with the Washington Stealth professional indoor lacrosse team on a fundraiser.

The fundraiser will be held Oct. 16 at Tech City Bowl in Kirkland to introduce more kids to lacrosse as a way to stay active.

Sticks-2-Schools is a nonprofit organization, that works to fight childhood obesity by working and motivating kids to increase their physical activity. The program donates lacrosse equipment, curriculum guides and instruction from Stealth players at no cost to schools. Over 80 schools are on the waiting list for the program.

The fundraiser at Tech City Bowl will give kids a chance to learn about lacrosse, bowl, play arcade games and meet with members of the Washington Stealth and Bombshells dance team, as well as the Stealth mascot, Bomber the Fox.

The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 16.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 13 and under. The event will also feature an auction. All money raised will go toward equipment and other items for the program.

Tech City Bowl is located at 13033 NE 70th Place, Kirkland, WA 98033.
