The 4th Annual MXD Championships, a three-day mixed-doubles tennis tournament, will be held over the weekend of July 25-27 at Kirkland’s Central Park Tennis Club and the Bellevue Club.

Four divisions of play will feature over 120 mixed-doubles teams from around the Seattle area.

The highlight of the weekend is the Saturday night player party, to be held outdoors at the Central Park Tennis Club. The evening will include food by Sasi’s Café, wine by Pavin & Riley, and specialty cocktails by Belvedere Vodka and 10 Cane Rum.

KING 5’s Joyce Taylor will be on hand to MC the event, and premier Northwest vocalist and Mercer Island Beach Club tennis director Jamie Dieveney will serenade the crowd. The evening will also include exhibition tennis matches played by local tennis pros.

Importantly, participants of the MXD Championships raise funds for First Place School through a live auction, raffle, fundraising parties and donations to the First Place Giving Tree. Over the past three years, these tennis enthusiasts have raised more than $90,000 for the cause.

All the tennis matches are free and open to the public, and all are welcome to the dinner auction for a $25 ticket (tickets are purchased at the door).

First Place is a service agency devoted to educating and nurturing children whose families struggle with the risk or reality of homelessness.
