Northwest University’s Hannah Hanson has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Attacker of the Week while Ben Tucakovic and Miranda Langenhorst were named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Red Lion players of the week for basketball.
Hanson, a senior from Tenino, Wash., led the Eagles both matches over the weekend in kills while hitting .474 for nine sets and helped the Eagles clinch third place in the CCC, their highest finish in the conference since 2005 when the finished second in the conference.
Tucakovic, a 6-foot-7 senior forward from Boise, Idaho, has played a large role in the Eagles getting off to a 4-0 start at the beginning of their season. Had double-doubles in their New Hope and Benedictine games and just missed a third straight by one rebound in the Embry-Riddle game Saturday. He has averaged a double-double (18 points per game and 10.7 rebound per game) in the last three contests and is shooting over 47 percent.
Langenhorst, a 6-foot-2 sophomore post from Susanville, Calif., averaged a double-double averaging 12 points and 12.5 rebounds in the Eagles two road games in Arizona over the weekend while hitting .643 of her shots. She also averaged 1.5 blocks per game.
