The Juanita and Lake Washington track and field teams competed at Juanita High School during the KingCo 3A championship meet Wednesday.
The Juanita girls finished the day in third place with a team score of 29.33 points. The team was led by two seniors who each took home a KingCo individual-event title.
The Lake Washington boys finished fifth for the day with seven team points and the Juanita boys were seventh with one team point.
All team points will be added to finals results on Friday to determine KingCo team champions.
Juanita senior Alanna Coker won the KingCo title in the girls long jump with a distance of 17-feet, one-inch.
Rebel senior Kate Cryderman earned first place in the girls discus final with a distance of 122-feet, two-inches.
In the boys 1,600-meter run, Lake Washington sophomore Devon Grove placed fourth overall in a time of 4:29.12, behind three Bellevue runners.
Rebel senior Lilia Jonsson took fifth in the girls pole vault with a height of nine feet, while Juanita’s Kathryn Wuchter and Lake Washington’s Mackenzie Toher tied for eighth with eight-feet, six-inches. Jonsson also finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 14-feet, 10.5-inches.
Juanita sophomore Shannon Brink took sixth in the discus (79-feet, nine-inches), while teammate junior Carleigh Williams finished in a four-way tie for ninth with 67-feet, five-inches.
Kang senior Matt Mccarty took seventh place in the boys shot put with a distance of 42-feet, 11-inches.
In the long jump Juanita’s Austin Chen finished eighth overall with 19-feet, 2.5-inches.
