Two Kirkland Middle School wrestlers took home district titles at the 2017 middle school wrestling district championships, which were held March 27 and 28 at Kirkland Middle School.
Seventh-grader Jackson Lux was a district champion in the 110-pound division, going 8-0 at the tournament to win his second consecutive district title. Last year, Lux also won a district title as a sixth-grader at the 85-pound level.
Sixth-grader Chase Martin won the district title in the 90-pound weight class, also going 8-0 at the tournament.
Kirkland had several wrestlers place second in their weight divisions, including Kyle Earl (95), Leo Borges (100), Jax Wojtach (105), Jagger Voelker (130), Jeevin Parhar (155) and Jesset Camacho-Rivera (275).
Also competing at the tournament for Kirkland were Evan Eschbach, Dallas Kastler, Alex Payne, Burke Locken, Josh Nehrhood, Laphonso Thomas, Ethan Lux, Levi Conrow, Finnley Young, Tommy Reiss, Max Hollenback, Cameron Carl, Zach Lombardi, Georgios Kotsakis, Xavoir Pribic, Connor Quinn and Brady Scheffer. The team is coached by Terry Higbee.
